Lesson plan ideas:

Target Audience: 2nd grade
Big Idea: Social studies: communities
Overall goal: To have students compare and contrast communities/neighborhoods. Then, have students learn about their own community/neighborhood (the buildings/businesses located there, people that live there, etc). Then students would use Mapquest to make a map of the places and locations in their community/neighborhood.

Possible Resources: books about communities, Mapquest

Target Audience: 2nd grade
Big Idea: Endangered species
Overall goal: To have students research an endangered species using the internet and use powerpoint to make a presentation about the species.

Target Audience: 4th grade
Big Idea: Science/Math
Overall goal: To have students determine their age and weight on other planets
Standards: Basic operations and concepts; technology productivity tools
Possible Resources: Microsoft Excel
